Mango, Chilli & Ginger Popsicles {Vegan, No Added Sugar}

mango-pops

It’s the end of popsicle week aaand I’m also away in Amsterdam so this’ll be a super quick post!

First of all just gotta vent my Brexit anger for a short moment and say that I’m extremely shocked at the turnout and that I was firmly in the remain camp…. Now that’s done we can talk about popsicles cos that will distract me

These sweet, sour and spicy guys are probably my favourite out of all the ones I’ve made over the past few years. The mango is bringing some fibre to the game as well as the natural sweetness so these are decidedly better for you than any kind of popsicle you’ll ever find in a supermarket. I’m also really into spicy lemonade and gingerale, hence the other ingredients.

Now the trendy thing to do here would be to add turmeric but I prefer turmeric in curry/soup instead of in drink-type things. If you want to add some though, go for it – probably about ½ a tsp would be a good starting place then taste and add more if needed!

  1. I’m just loving the sound of these! I adore fruity things with a little spice so this is totally up my alley! Thanks for sharing, Izy!

  2. I am super disappointed in the results as well! I feel like this is going to have a global impact that a lot of people didn’t see coming when they voted to leave.

    But on a food related note! These look so amazing! 😀 I don’t think I would add the turmeric, I feel like it would give it too savory of a taste! I can’t wait to make these! <3

  3. I love how simple, in the really amazing a perfect summer food way, these pops are! p.s.Even this side of the Atlantic we were all shocked 🙁

  4. It’s mango season here in Antigua although this year they seem in short supply – however, when there is a glut, recipes like this are magnificent! I shall definitely try this. The diet in Antigua is very poor – high in refined sugars and plenty of tooth decay, reflecting a low income nation. So I love the idea of making our own popsicles and not relying on blue ice cream to cool off! Don’t get me started on the vote, especially for all the expats worldwide!

  5. Just discovered your blog recently, tried the first recipe on the page (this) and it was amazing. But the general feedback in the family was, that it was to spicy. I feel like just a pinch of cayenne is enough.

  6. Really Nice inspiration, it could be serve at lovely afternoon while gather with friends and colleague. refreshing and yet hint of spice…. awesome.

  7. These look delicious, not really hot enough here at the moment for a lolly but as soon as it is, I am making these!

  8. I hope you enjoyed Amsterdam!

    These are perfect for summer! I love that they both have a sweet and spicy aspect, are very healthy, and require a minimalistic list of ingredients.

  9. Omg! Anticipating all the ingredients coming together, I’m so excited for this one. For those who loves spicy drinks and teas and lemonades like me will definitely love this one! Cold and spice collide- looking forward what’s it gonna taste like. Great piece!

  10. Hi Izy, I will be recommending this recipe to my customers as I feel the taste changing effects of the Miracle berry will work wonders with the acidity of the fruit. Will certainly be trying this and possibly be increasing the amount of lemon juice.

  11. Oh this looks right up my street. When you mentioned turmerico I thought bah! Haha I’m in bed with shingles and nit feeling too good but this has cheered me up!?The sugar mangos have just come into season here (you can smell tham a block away) and I have the rest of the ingredients in the house so SOMEBODY will be making this for me tomorrow. ??
